TITLE PAGE
In the distance, and on a hilltop, stands a leafless gnarled old tree. Beneath the tree, sits a darkened giant figure of a man (UMEBOSHI) -- Centered in the background, a full and ominous moon fills the page.
VOLUME 1 – THE SERVANT
PAGE 1 - Chapter 1 “How it All Began”
SPLASH PAGE
(RtoL) The SUN shines orange and red within the heavens. It’s seen as a wise mid-forties face within -- (this would remind us of the great and all powerful OZ, and his false image.) He peers down on an ancient Japanese style map of the EARTH. The map is flat, yet the islands rise from the paper, like a pop-up coffee-table book.
The MOON is directly across from the SUN. She is the same size, and her face is sad, cold, pale and powerful, like an ancient queen. She eyes the SUN, as a lone teardrop rolls down her cheek.
OLD HIRATO (OP): (side of page)
It is said that at one time the Sun adored the Moon. She was his queen and so he created for her the greatest of gifts. Yet after time the Sun fell in love with his new creation… and called it Earth.
PAGE TWO
PANEL 1 (horizontal)
(TtoB) Looking to the heavens, we see dark clouds, leaking from the MOON’s angry open mouth, like squid ink into an ocean of radiant SUNSET. The MOON’S teardrop falls from her face.
On the bottom of the page, and in the far distance, the silhouette of a young slender woman stands in a wild flower field. Her image eyes the ground oblivious. Further in the distance, the mountains rise high green and slender.
OLD HIRATO (OP):
As the Moons jealousy grew so did her hatred. She sent a creature that could defeat the mightiest the Sun had to offer…
PANEL 2 (horizontal)
(TtoB realistic) Looking to the heavens, the MOON has nearly eclipsed the SUN. Her face breaks away from the satellite like confetti. Thick heavy dark clouds fill the sky and roll over the hills.
Beneath the clouds and in the distance, a meteor plummets towards the wildflower field.
The silhouette of the young woman, standing in the wild flower field looks to the meteor as it falls.
OLD HIRATO (OP):
It is said that if we can destroy the creature in its lifetime the Moon will go to sleep forever leaving our Earth to his love… but if the creature can not be defeated… then his most precious gift will always be hers to corrupt.
This comic book will have a graphic novel appeal. What's different -- is that the dialog will runs down the side of the pages vertically.

TINY PLUM description of main characters
THE TINY PLUM
Written by Ryan Sutton
Specs and description of main characters:
UMEBOSHI 12/UMEBOSHI 18 (the tiny plum) a larger than life, colossal, twelve-year-old boy with a bowl-haircut and lovable face. His clumsy heavy bone and inner bulky hide, although resilient, otherwise hinders his own subliminal message of tolerance and kindness.
MISAWA has a slender body and long black and silky hair.
· Generally wears a white see through gown.
YOUNG YUSHI/MISTRESS Young eighteen year old Yushi will transform into an old trollop within twelve years. Her gnarled mole filled face has endured much pain and hardship with a web of wrinkles to prove it. Long gray hairs hang from her chin while toothless gums wrap around a long cryptic pipe. Her wooden eye is common within her witchery.
· Think Dragon Lady in appearance/not to be confused with Chinese
· Long fingernails painted in elaborate designs
· Always smoking
THE TWINS YOUNG/THE TWINS OLD (Sintu and Sontu) the conjoined maternal twins are the most diabolical villains of this story. In their youth they are skinny and common - except for a long thorny vine that runs from the spinal column to a weathered flower pot. Sintu is slightly taller, making it difficult for this fragile Heckle and Jeckle type of creature to move.
In their old age, they still hold on to their long vine (the weathered vase replaced beautiful and golden.) Their hair is combed over, thin with long stringy beards that give them a sinister, shrewd look.
· In public they wear black gowns and straw hats (that are tattered) to cover their deformity.
· On the farm – only loin cloth
HIRATO YOUNG/OLD HIRATO is in his late thirties or twelve years later (little change) stocky, plump, balding hair with wisdom and a continued sadness.
· Modest drab robes.
THE HOKAN is larger than life (A full head taller than Umeboshi as an adult)
· Old school muscular – large shoulders and strong arms with a gut of muscle that hangs over their waste.
· Long thick black hair and a powerful jaw-line.
· Ageless.
· Always wearing a loin cloth.
· Conjoined at the hip.
· Sharp teeth.
